Food Friday :: Icing on the Cupcake

After attending my court date for a speeding ticket (curses!!) recently, I was so bummed that I stopped by “Icing on the Cupcake” on Alhambra to cheer myself up a bit. Because really, who isn’t cheered up by a cupcake?


I tried vanilla, red velvet and pumpkin spice. All were pretty delicious, but I have a proclivity to vanilla cupcakes in general. I made some from a recipe I got off foodnetwork.com (from the Magnolia bakery in NYC) a few years ago, and there’s really nothing like a fresh homemade cupcake and buttercream frosting. But these ones from “Icing on the Cupcake” were pretty good too.

I thought this entry was especially appropriate today since last night we welcomed our new nephew, Grady Lee Lambert to the world and celebrated his birthday with him at the hospital.
He’s a big boy- a big 9.5 pounder. Yep, you heard that right! Poor Melissa was in labor for 36 hours, but it was worth it. He’s precious!
