Leslie Callan, Owner and Operator
With a background as an interior designer and high-end fabric and furniture dealer, “Green Vintage” was originally going to be an interior design business focusing on green technology and reusing vintage found goods.
After traveling with my first DSLR through much of 2009, I fell in love with photography. When I returned to the States I began apprenticing with various professionals in the Northern California area, working with a vast array of styles and experience levels. This led me to develop specialties while simultaneously learning the trade.
Photographing weddings proved to be the most intense learning experience I could imagine… there are no do-overs on a wedding day, constantly changing lighting conditions, candid and posed photos, natural and artificial light. The adrenaline rush of a wedding day was all I needed to convince me that it should be my specialty. Shortly after I started building my own clientele, my former wedding clients started having families, which was a natural expansion.
As an art school graduate specializing in large-scale paintings, my art background and interior design experience have led me to focusing on the display aspect of the business as well. Designing layouts and wall displays around existing home decor is one of my favorite things about the job.
We operate out of a studio in a Midtown Sacramento historic antiques building that is truly one of a kind. Our team not only photographs you in our studio and outdoor courtyard, but around Midtown, the greater Sacramento area, and love to travel far and wide to celebrate life’s amazing moments. The second best part of the process is designing your keepsakes and artwork in the studio after your event or session.
Contact me to schedule a time to get to know each other and see how we can help. GVP Studios are a trustworthy, hardworking, happy, tranquil, “let’s skip the small talk” kinda group of people. If you want your most special memories to be captured by people with that description… let’s do it!
